Dr. Tim Godlove is a CIO within the Department of the Navy. Before assuming his current CIO position, Dr. Godlove was the CIO for the National Cemetery Administration, Department of Veterans Affairs. Dr. Godlove holds a Ph.D. in Information Systems, Information Assurance Policy from the University of Fairfax, a Master of Science in Administration, Information Resource Management from Central Michigan University, and a bachelor’s degree from Chapman University. Dr. Godlove has completed the Chief Information Officer Program and Information Assurance Certification at the National Defense University. He is also a graduate of the Federal Executive Institute, Leadership for a Democratic Society, VA Senior Level, Federal Acquisition Program/Project Manager Program, and the Leadership Veterans’ Affairs Program. He holds several graduate certificates, including the Federal Security Professional-Manager certification and the Information Assurance Certification, CNSS/NSA 4012/4011. He has served on the Federal CIO Council IT Workforce Committee as the Vice-Chair, Managing Talent.
During his service in the Navy, Dr. Godlove participated in various operational commands and staff assignments in the continental United States and Europe. Before retiring, he served as Senior Navy Aide/Protocol Officer for the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Other assignments include Officer in Charge, Base Support Battalion Operation Joint Forge; Executive Officer, Reserve Component Affairs Directorate, Headquarters, U.S. European Command; and Operations Chief, Military Liaison Team, Bulgaria.
