Dr. Larry Adnanson is the Director of IT of an international private/government K-12 school in Maryland, where he practices Information technology governance and information security hands-on daily.
Before being named as the IT Director, Larry was one of the two regional executive directors of a charter company that owned and operated six most successful charter schools in two districts in Maryland. He worked there with two major school districts’ central offices closely, crafted a research-based K-8 charter school proposal, headed IT and HR departments for two years, and played a key role in redefining the management role of central office in increasing academic achievement of the member schools.
Prior to joining the charter school management company, Larry worked for a government agency in Turkey as a project manager for three years. Along with several small projects, he managed a $10M Department of Education project that provided training to 15,000 vocational school teachers in the areas of Entrepreneurship, classroom management and leadership.
Before that, Larry worked in public and private schools in five different states as a middle and high school Mathematics teacher, international Math Olympiad coach, and high school principal, and network and system administrator for more than 15 years.
Larry earned a Bachelor of Science in Teaching Secondary Mathematics from Middle East Technical University, Masters of Science in Individualized Studies (Educational Leadership and Technology) from State University of New York Buffalo State College and Doctorate in Information Assurance from University of Fairfax.
Larry holds Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network+, and Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA) certificates.
