2020 Graduation Information
Due to the continued impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, additional adjustments are necessary to ensure the health and safety of our students, their families and friends, and the communities in which we live. Like most institutions, American National University and its subsidiary cybersecurity institution, the University of Fairfax, must cancel all graduation convocations and commencement exercises for 2020. I am sure this is not an unexpected announcement and realize that all of you will understand the necessity to take this action.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Ceremony:
A. Due to the growing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic we must make changes that will ensure the health and safety of our students, families, friends, and communities. Your safety and the safety of loved ones must come first; therefore, we have determined that the University of Fairfax and American National University Convocation and Commencement cannot take place in-person as originally scheduled in June 2020. This decision includes all celebrations and convocations in Roanoke, Virginia; Louisville, Kentucky; and Nashville, Tennessee.
A. A formal graduation exercise will be scheduled for June, 2021. As we have done before, graduates will be able to participate formally in the exercise at the scheduled location or will be able to participate in an online format.
Diplomas:
A. Diplomas will be sent to the mailing address on file with the University. Please email CareerServices@an.edu with any address updates by Thursday, April 30th. Check back here often for an updated delivery date for diplomas.

Graduation Regalia:
A. Students who completed all academic requirements within the following time frames: University of Fairfax (August 2019 – May 2020); American National University (June 2019 – May 2020).
A. Cap and gown orders should be placed no later than Thursday, April 30, 2020 through the Oak Hall / ANU / UOF website. https://anu-uf.shopoakhalli.com/
A. All items will be shipped directly to you. Orders will need to be placed by Thursday, April 30th, with an anticipated delivery date of Friday, May 15th.
